● Note 1: For Bluetooth operation
You need to purchase a separate Yealink USB dongle BT40. This dongle is discontinued, and alternatively, Yealink BT41 is used.
● Note 2: Yealink supports EHS cable
Yealink supports the use of an EHS cable, so you don't need a HL10 lifter.
● Note 3: Use two headsets with the Dual Headset Feature
The headsets must be connected to the headset jack and handset jacks, respectively, to enable the Dual Headset feature. If you want full duplex capabilities for your headset, connect it to the headset jack. If you just want an audio device, connect the headset to the handset jack.
Note 3.1: Enable Dual Headset Via Web UI
Click on Features > Select Enabled from the pull-down menu > Click confirm to take the effects.
Note 3.2: How to Resolve EHS Cable Initially Not Answering?
The EHS cable must be unplugged from the wireless base and telephone.
Wait for 60 seconds after removing the power cord from the base.
Now connect the power cord again to the base. Wait for the power indicator to be on.
Now you have to plug the EHS cable back into the wireless base and the telephone to make it work.
Your issue will be resolved.
● Note 4: Firmware update support
The phones T55A/T56A/T58A/VP59/MP54/MP56/MP58 after the firmware update released in May 2020, they support EHS40.
● Note 5: Link 380 USB Dongle incompatibility
If you are using the Link 380 USB Dongle, Jabra USB/Bluetooth headsets are not compatible. They will be compatible only with Link 950 and a compatible EHS cable via the telephone RJ9 port.
What is a Wired Headset Solution for Yealink Phones?
A business-grade wired headset solution consists of two things: one wired headset and either a direct-connect cable or an amplifier.
The connection established between them is the quick disconnect connection. For organizations managing multiple phone brands, exploring our complete range of corded headsets can help identify solutions compatible across different systems.
Quick Disconnect Connection
The quick disconnect allows you to instantly connect and disconnect from the phone. You can quickly disconnect from the phone or leave the desk whenever you want.
Benefit: Maximum flexibility and instant connection/disconnection.
Amplifier
The amplifier is responsible for establishing the quick disconnect connection between the corded headset and the phone. It is used with the old phones that have the handset port.
How to Set Up a Wired Headset with an Amplifier?
It's quite simple, just plug the headset into the amplifier first. After this, you can insert the amplifier into the handset port of the phone.
Strength: It provides you with full control over the outgoing voice. It means you can adjust voice levels as per your needs.
Weakness: It is expensive and used only with headsets having a handset port.
Direct Connect Cable
The direct-connect cable is an affordable alternative to the amplifier. It is used for newer phone models that have a built-in amplifier. The direct-connect cable is plugged into the headset port of your phone.
How to Set up a Wired Headset with a Direct-Connect Cable?
The direct connect cable is plugged into the headset port of the phone, and then the headset in the direct connect cable.
Strength: They are an affordable alternative to amplifiers that reduce your cost.
Weakness: They do not provide you with full volume control over the outgoing voice. You will not sound proper to callers with a soft voice. It will work only with phone models that have the headset port.
What is a Wireless Headset Solution for Yealink Phones?
A business-grade wireless headset is used for the Yealink phones.
The wireless headset is purchased as a complete setup to make it work with your phone. The following are the components of the Wireless headset setup:
A Wireless Headset
The equipment responsible for hands-free telecommunication and taking calls.
Features:
• Freedom from desk constraints
• Multiple wearing styles available
• Professional audio quality
• Long battery life for all-day use
AC Power Source
This component, as the name suggests, powers up the base of the headset to handle other operations.
Purpose:
• Provides constant power to base
• Enables all base operations
• Supports charging functionality
Base/Charger
It's the core component of the wireless headset that powers up other operations. It handles compatibility, charging, and other core operations for the headset. The base indicates the charging, speaker, and microphone volume, charging, and other features with LED lights.
Functions:
• Charges headset when idle
• Controls compatibility settings
• LED indicators for status
• Manages wireless connectivity
Handset Lifter or Electronic Hook Switch Cable
This is an optional component used with wireless headsets. It adds remote call handling to headsets that don't have built-in remote call handling features.
Options:
• Handset Lifter (HL10): Mechanical device for remote answering
• EHS Cable (EHS36/EHS40): Electronic connection for Yealink phones
Both enable answer and hang-up from anywhere
What Headset Options are Used for Yealink Phones?
Many headsets are compatible with the Yealink phones, but some recommended headset options are listed below:
Yealink Wireless Headsets
The Yealink WH6 wireless headset series is compatible with most Yealink phones that allow remote call answering/hanging up. It does not require any additional EHS cable for remote calls. You can choose either the WH62 headband models for better audio performance or the extremely lightweight WH63 convertible models.
Key Features:
• No EHS cable needed for most models
• Remote answer/hang-up built-in
• Two wearing styles available
• Optimized for Yealink phones
Poly and Jabra Wireless Headsets
The Poly and Jabra offer a deskphone series of headsets compatible only with the Yealink phones. These headsets work only if the only mode of communication is the Yealink phone. The wearing styles, battery life, and roaming distance must be considered before choosing a headset.
The deskphone series provides you the compatible headsets for PC and Bluetooth phones as well. So you have the convenience of keeping your headset charged every time. So, the callers can contact you from any device leaving no room for delays.
These 3-in-1 headsets allow you to press the PC button on the base to convert your headset into an audio device. Just press the PC button to prevent blasting the room with external speakers while joining webinars and video conferences.

How Can You Handle Calls Remotely for Poly & Jabra Wireless Headsets?
Wireless headsets, when used with the Yealink phones, give you the freedom of mobility, but to enjoy remote call handling, you need additional equipment.
You will need either a Poly or a Jabra EHS cable or a Handset lifter. They free you from holding and cradling the handset while writing and typing during the calls.
Both alert you about the incoming calls by generating a beep sound. So no more calls are going to voicemail due to the delay in attending to the calls.
Remote Call Answering/Ending Using a Handset Lifter
How It Works:
The handset lifter allows you to take calls by raising and lowering the handset to simulate the calls. It is the most common equipment for remote call handling in older phones.
Step-by-Step:
Answer Call: When you receive the notification about the incoming call, press the Call Control button. Your phone will be answered.
End Call: Press the "Call Control" button again if you want to end the call. After this, you can return to your phone to perform the other call operations.
Advantages:
• ✓ Works with most phone models
• ✓ No programming required
• ✓ Reliable mechanical operation
Remote Call Answering/Ending Using an EHS Cable
How It Works:
The EHS cable is an alternative to the handset lifter that supports remote call answering and ending. Whenever the headset informs you about the incoming call, just press the Call Control button to receive the call. It electronically establishes the call, and you can start talking.
Step-by-Step:
Answer Call: Press the Call Control button when alerted.
End Call: You can disconnect the calls just by pressing the Call Control button again.
Advantages:
• ✓ Silent electronic operation
• ✓ No moving parts to maintain
• ✓ Faster response time
• ✓ Cleaner desk appearance
Key Difference: It's different from a handset lifter in terms of the physical movement of the handset, and the mechanical motor is not required for the EHS cable.
